Direct Reduced Iron (DRI)
Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) – sponge iron with high metallisation and low impurities, produced via MIDREX and PERED technology for billet and TMT bar production.
Direct Reduced Iron (DRI), also known as Sponge Iron, is produced through the direct reduction of iron ore pellets or lumps in a solid-state process that removes oxygen without melting the material. The result is a highly porous, metallic product resembling a sponge—hence its name. DRI serves as a high-quality feedstock for electric arc furnaces (EAF) and induction furnaces, ensuring efficient melting, uniform chemistry, and low impurity levels in the final steel.
Our DRI is manufactured using natural gas-based reduction technologies (MIDREX and PERED), providing high metallisation rates, consistent carbon control, and minimal impurities. It is widely used in the production of billets, TMT bars, and structural steels where quality and performance are critical.
