Graphitized Petroleum Coke (GPC)
Graphitized Petroleum Coke (GPC) for steel and foundry industries, offering high carbon content, low impurities, and reliable performance in smelting and casting applications.
Graphitized Petroleum Coke (GPC) is a premium carbon additive produced by high-temperature graphitisation of calcined petroleum coke. This process realigns the carbon structure into crystalline graphite, resulting in exceptionally high fixed carbon content, low ash and sulphur, and excellent absorption characteristics. GPC is widely used to adjust the carbon composition in steelmaking, foundries, and precision casting applications.
Thanks to its high purity and strong absorptivity, GPC ensures uniform carbon distribution in molten metal, improving mechanical strength, surface finish, and overall metallurgical quality. It also serves as a covering agent in casting, preventing oxidation and nitrogen absorption during the cooling process.
Applications include:
- Carbon raiser in steel and foundry industries
- Casting additive and surface covering material
- Raw material for graphite electrode and carbon block production
