Carbon Anode Scrap (CAS) is a high-carbon by-product obtained from the aluminium electrolysis process, remaining after prebaked carbon anodes are partially consumed in the reduction cell. Despite being a recycled material, CAS retains excellent carbon purity, low ash content, and high electrical conductivity, making it a valuable secondary carbon source in metallurgical applications.

CAS is widely used as a carbon additive and fuel in steelmaking, ferroalloy production, and foundry operations. It contributes to improved carbon recovery, enhanced metallurgical performance, and reduced raw material costs. Depending on processing and screening requirements, CAS can be supplied in various sizes and fixed carbon levels to meet specific industrial needs.

Applications include:

  • Carbon additive for steelmaking and ferroalloy industries
  • Fuel for rotary kilns and smelting furnaces
  • Raw material for carbon raiser and electrode production
